About Naval Kindergarten, Kochi
Our Story
Naval Kindergarten Kochi was started in 1953, in the Barracks of INHS Sanjivani with the strength of just 30 students. Late Mrs Emily Pappaly was the founder headmistress. Under her tutelage, the school blossomed into a prestigious pre-primary institution of learning, especially for the small children of the Naval fraternity. She discharged her duties as Headmistress for a period of 30 years (01 June 1952 to 31 July 1982) and the school trail blazed to excellence.
On completion of 69 years of excellence this premier educational institution has grown from strength to strength and now has 27 sections and 770 students. Come March 2024, 52,250 children would have crossed the portals of Naval Kindergarten.
The school now functions under the aegis of Headquarters, Southern Naval Command, Kochi/ INS Venduruthy. Commanding Officer, INS Venduruthy is the Chairman of the School Management Committee.
Vision
To become the premier Kindergarten School imparting pre-primary education, towards inculcating essential values like moral courage, integrity and social etiquette in the children and moulding them to become Role Models and Good Citizens of our Nation.
Mission
To provide quality and affordable pre-primary education to the children of all Naval Personnel. With the perception that children learn differently and that all children are capable of learning, devise a wholesome system that would cater to individual learning capabilities of all children. To provide a safe and loving environment, to set the foundation for lifelong love for learning, to make a positive difference in their lives. Focus on learning to share, care and show respect to one another, to develop and instil a sense of love, duty and patriotism towards the nation.
